# Hilltrees · forest wellness retreat

## Reference constraints

Keep `image.png` and `prd.md` as the original references. The elongated hillside site, the existing road along its lower edge, the rising forest behind it, and the mountain skyline define the design. Change buildings and program spaces within the existing developed clearing, without enlarging the clearing or moving the road.

The corrected concept is a long, shallow strip along the existing road. Ten capsules occupy **two rows of five**, parallel to the road. The finished roadside edge sits **2 metres above the adjacent road centerline**, with a retaining wall, entrance stairs, and a ramp to the arrival/parking strip. The forest and mountain behind the developed area retain their previous elevation function.

The image is a perspective concept reference, not a cadastral survey or elevation model. Any reconstructed 3D terrain is an approximation of its visible form; the approximately 10,000 m² in the brief is not a verified boundary measurement.

## Spatial design

- **Arrival / lower roadside:** retain the entry and parking apron. A small timber welcome pavilion connects to a pedestrian route climbing to the center.
- **Sleep / left terraces:** exactly ten capsules in two slightly staggered rows of five along the road, each with a sheltered valley-facing window, private timber terrace, and elevated supports. Muted bronze shells, cedar reveals, and screened sides give privacy.
- **Gather / center:** a low timber-and-glass wellness pavilion with reception, a tea lounge, a seasonal kitchen, and sheltered outdoor dining. Its broad roof and connected terrace form the social center.
- **Restore / center terrace:** a shallow linear footbath with seating, a quiet planted court, and comfortable valley-facing loungers.
- **Move / right terrace:** replace the cultural performance venue (문화 예술 공연장) with an open wooden deck for yoga, breathing, stretching, and informal gatherings. No auditorium or stage building.
- **Nourish / eastern end:** herb and kitchen gardens next to a winding red-clay earthing route and a foot-washing stop.
- **Reflect / upper forest edge:** keep the forest setting, connect small meditation perches, and retain a compact stargazing deck above the central pavilion.
